What a weekend

I just wanted to say WOW! What an incredible Easter. The drama department
of LTG performed one of the best passion plays in LTG history. Kudos to
Kimberly & Roger Wallace for doing such a great job directing this play.
After the play I spoke for about 5 or 6 minutes and we saw over 23 people
give their hearts to Jesus. That's more than worth the work that the drama
teams put into this effort. Needless to say, I am so excited about what God
is doing all around this nation and especially at Living To Go Church.
Great things.... real ministry and real people finding Jesus. We've seen
over 120 people come to faith in Christ in the past few weeks. We are
seeing explosive growth in our bus ministries into the surrounding areas and
I'm stoked about the new Hispanic ministries that are being launched. If
you're interested in getting involved in our Hispanic community at Living To
Go drop an email to Vicky Thomas at
vickythomas@livingtogo.org . Come on!
What are you waiting for? Now is the time......

Pure Worship Institute with Jeff Deyo

I just wanted to let everyone know about an exciting worship event taking
place at Living To Go Church.
Jeff Deyo is bringing his Pure Worship
Institute to Nashville and we are excited to partner with him on this time
of training our future worship leaders and artists. You need to check out
the website
www.pureworshipinstitute.com . Each night they will host a
worship concert that is open to the public. The website should explain it
all. If you are a worship leader or feel God leading you in that direction
you need to set aside this time and register for an incredible time of
teaching with Jeff's team.

Don't forget to get to LTG early this weekend. Seating will be at a
premium. Cya at 11am Sunday!

Snow Patrol....

Just wanted to let everyone know that Church is open at Living To Go
Tomorrow March 9th. Here's a great rule of to help you understand our
mindset for determining whether or not we will close for weather related
issues..... ok.... are you ready? If you can get here on a sled.... in a
boat.... or if you have to tunnel through.... we will have services on
Sunday Morning. I always advise people when they ask about attending on
these days.... use your own judgment. We would never want you to put
yourself in abject danger to attend a service but you should also keep in
mind... don't let it be an excuse to not attend... What do I mean you ask?
Well... if you can make it to the mall or to your favorite restaurant, you
can probably make it to church. :) I remember, as a kid in the olden days,
my dad taking us to church after huge snowstorms in Kingsport, TN. He would
put Mom, Alan, Alisa and me on a sled and pull us to church as he waded
through snow up to his chin..... well that's how he tells it anyhow....:)
see ya in the morning...

Changing of the Guard

I think that it's official. Pastor Eddie Turner has resigned from the
Superintendent's position effective after the TN District council this year.
It makes my heart heavy but I support Pastor Eddie and Amanda in whatever
ministry pursuit that they take on. They are both great people and great
leaders. Their leadership and direction is what inspired Tawana and me to
be a part of the Assemblies of God and I know I speak for many who have been
proud to serve alongside them as they navigated through some muddy waters.
The water is much clearer and refreshing than before they came into
Superintendant's office. My hope is that whomever steps into his position
will be wise enough to emulate much of what has been started. I do know
this... they must be a person of vision and experience. Not only in casting
the vision but also in bringing that vision to fruition.(many people can
dream but few can give a dream feet) It must be someone who is driven to
make the district office a resource for our churches and represent us well
in the general council and world council.
I'll wrap with this: Pastor Eddie and Amanda, You've been a blessing and
encouraged those of us "on the fence" and in the field. Thank you for these
years of service and here's to many more years of friendship and ministry
together. I pray the favor of God on your family and whatever you lay your
hand to.

I believe this quote wraps up my thoughts about Pastor Eddie and Amanda's
tenure:
"The final test of a leader is that he leaves behind him in other men the
conviction and the will to carry on. . . . The genius of a good leader is to
leave behind him a situation which common sense, without the grace of
genius, can deal with successfully." - Walter Lippmann

A Quick Update

I know that it has been awhile since my last post so I wanted to update
everyone on the latest. My father, Pastor Paul Baggett (The Happy Pastor)
was in the hospital last week and received 2 more stints in the backside of
his heart. I'm giving you the simplified version because there was a
miracle involved in the procedure that saved him. You will have to wait for
his message this Sunday Morning to hear it from his mouth. It's his miracle
and his to share. If you can't be in the service then I encourage you to
check-out the podcast page where his sermon will be posted on the following
Tuesday. I will tell you that he is doing great and is itching to get back
to camp-meeting mode. He is even planning some tent meetings in the spring!
You might want to see for yourself so come out this Sunday and join us for
what dad is calling "Miracle Sunday". It'll be incredible.
On a side note; sometimes in life we don't realize how precious the people
are that God places in our lives. Pastor Baggett has touched hundreds of
thousands of lives all across this planet. Maybe you are one of those
lives... maybe it's time to touch base with him or drop by in person to a
service where he is ministering. Wherever you are he will probably be
preaching in some church within driving distance sometime this year.
Remember, Pastor Baggett usually has the pulpit at Living To Go Church on
the first Sunday of every month. You can email him at pastor@livingtogo.org
