Baptism

Today I get to baptize some close friends of mine.  One is an older man who wants to make sure that he is ready to meet the Lord when that time comes.  It made me think…. (that can be scary) How often do we take for granted our assurance of salvation?  Sometimes I get so busy just doing “stuff” that I don’t stop to think about how awesome the opportunity to be baptized and follow Jesus’ example really is.  So today I get to baptize friends and family and then I get to do it again this Sunday where I get to stand with a man who fell away from his faith but has returned determined to follow after God…. I’m not making doctrinal statements here, so relax…. I’m just saying that sometimes we really do need to our first works again if for no other reason but to make a statement to ourselves….. What a great week!
